Nepali Nurses Selected in 2023 to Work for UK Health Sector After Interview
In a remarkable knocks for global healthcare employment, 45 Nepali nurses have recently aced interviews to join the UK's health workforce. This achievement is a result of joint efforts between Nepal and the UK, showcasing a rising trend in international healthcare opportunities.

The crucial interviews, conducted from November 18 to 21, saw 60 out of 71 shortlisted candidates facing evaluations at the British Embassy in Nepal.
Experts from the Hampshire Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT), selected by the UK Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), all the candidates performed well during these in-person interviews, emphasizing the high standards and caliber of the applicants.
Next Process for Selected Nurses for UK
The successful nurses will soon be notified by the Foreign Employment Department and will receive necessary guidance before commencing their roles in the UK. Deployment is expected in the first quarter of 2024.
This milestone stems from a memorandum of understanding signed in August 2022 between Nepal and the British government. Initially targeting 100 nurses, the pilot project attracted 82 applicants, indicating a strong interest among Nepalese nurses for such opportunities.
This accomplishment not only opens doors for these skilled nurses but also forms stronger healthcare connections between Nepal and the UK. It lays the groundwork for potential future collaborations, mutual growth in the healthcare sector.
